The team
As a part of Cloud & Data practice, we are looking for talented AWS Cloud Application Architect to join us to contribute, practice initiatives and keep current in the latest technology developments in the Cloud and Product Engineering space.
The role
What you’ll be doing
• Conduct cloud readiness assessments for on-premises applications, infrastructure, and databases.
• Develop comprehensive migration strategies, including Lift-and-Shift, Replatforming, and Refactoring approaches.
• Design secure, scalable, and cost-optimized architectures using AWS services.
• Define high-level and detailed solution designs, aligning with business goals and technical requirements.
• Prioritize workloads based on complexity, interdependencies, and business impact.
• Develop migration roadmaps, including timelines and resource allocation.
• Modernize workloads using AWS services such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
• Migrate monolithic applications to microservices-based architectures.
• Implement robust security measures, including IAM policies, encryption, and AWS WAF.
• Ensure compliance with frameworks like CIS, NIST, PCI DSS, and ISO 27001.
• Optimize application performance using AWS tools like CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancer, and Auto Scaling.
• Analyze cost and recommend right-sizing or reserved instances for cost efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance to engineers, developers, and other POD members.
• Review architectural decisions and designs to ensure alignment with best practices.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to align technical strategies with organizational objectives.
• Present technical solutions and migration progress to executive-level stakeholders.
• Document architectural decisions, patterns, and guidelines.
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for team members on AWS best practices.
What you’ll bring
What you bring to the team
Mandatory skills:
• Minimum of 3+ year experience in a security engineering role, with experience in network security, application security, and security frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Proficiency in AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, VPC, and CloudFormation.
• Strong experience in architecting scalable solutions using AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Extensive experience with AWS migration tools such as AWS Migration Hub, Database Migration Service (DMS), and CloudEndure.
• Deep understanding of workload analysis, application dependency mapping, and data migration techniques.
• Expertise in IAM, KMS, AWS WAF, and AWS Config for securing and governing workloads.
• Knowledge of compliance standards and their implementation in AWS environments.
• Proficiency in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK for automating cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in cost management using AWS Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, and Trusted Advisor.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile environments.
• Excellent computer proficiency including JIRA
Nice to have skills:
• Familiarity with advanced services like SageMaker, Athena, and Redshift for analytics and AI.
• Experience with serverless technologies such as Step Functions and API Gateway.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline tools like AWS CodePipeline and CodeBuild.
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes on Amazon EKS.
• Experience in designing big data solutions using AWS Glue, EMR, and Redshift.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty.
• TOGAF certification or equivalent architectural frameworks.
• Ability to mentor team members and promote a culture of innovation.
• Adept at managing dynamic project

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $140k-$150k base+ bonus.
The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Services bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
