For technology to evolve and serve society, organizations need diverse talents. More women coming into Tech will help explore more perspectives, innovations and that will eventually reflect in better outcomes.
My career journey
I have a bachelor’s from Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University. I started as a Junior Consultant with the SAP CRM system. Over the years, I had the chance to work on many projects and get promoted to Senior Consultant, where I took on more responsibilities for both SD and CRM functions. After working as a Senior Consultant/Team lead for some time, I was keen to transition to a project manager role. It wasn’t an easy task as I had to change the direction of my career, but with persistence and the encouragement of my boss, I was able to switch. I’ve been working in this role ever since and enjoy it a lot. So far, I’ve managed close to 10 projects within Hitachi. Overall, I have 17 years of experience in ERP and CRM in SAP Solution and Implementation.
My focus area and how it helps our clients
We implement SAP ERP software for our clients and apply it within their core business areas: Accounting, Sales, Purchasing, Warehouse and Production process. We work within dedicated timelines and the main challenge is to complete and push the system to live within these. We also help solve any issues that arise during the project execution – it takes a lot of experience and coordination on everyone’s part to meet expectations and keep everything running smoothly.
Best thing about working at Hitachi Digital Services
Hitachi is a global organization with many key industries, including Digital Services. This is the standout aspect of working here – we work with teams from all over the world and pull the best resources together. We have a supportive culture and together we learn from each other. I have the freedom to express myself within the team and with my leaders and they always support us.
This conducive environment helps me bring my best work. The freedom and accountability that we have here helps us aim for higher goals, which we can achieve. Personally, I always raise my hand for all kinds of tasks, irrespective of the complexity, I never reject any tasks. My focus on learning and delivering first-time right resonates with our company values as well.
Women in technology over the years
I’ve observed that diversity is now an important value for most organizations and across industries. This has rightfully extended to the tech industry too. For technology to evolve and serve society, organizations need diverse talents. More women coming into Tech will help explore more perspectives, innovations and that will eventually reflect in better outcomes.
At Hitachi, we’ve always encouraged women to be in tech roles. There’s been a surge in women in tech jobs and leadership roles globally. It is a reflection of the tech industry’s inclination towards participation of women in the tech industry.
Achievements that I cherish the most
One of the greatest achievements in my career was to be a Project Manager and to manage a big team of 30 members for one of the biggest projects in South-East Asia, One Bangkok, at that time. We achieved all the milestones on time – it was a collective success for the entire team, which wouldn’t have been possible without perseverance and support from everyone. But I feel that as Project Manager, my key contribution was building an inclusive environment so that everyone can give their best.
We took failures head-on, always addressed the root causes and supported each other to solve them. We celebrated, appreciated and rewarded top contributors and performers. It also helped me step-up in my career and get promoted to the next level, which I really appreciate. Thanks to my entire team for accomplishing this feat together.
