The team

We are seeking a highly experienced Azure Senior Engineering Manager to lead and oversee large-scale Azure cloud migration projects. This role requires a strong understanding of Azure cloud services, extensive experience in cloud migration strategies, and the ability to manage cross-functional engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

The role

• Lead and manage large-scale Azure cloud migration projects, including assessments, strategy development, and full implementation phases, ensuring smooth and seamless migration of workloads to Azure.
• Design and execute migration strategies using various approaches such as Rehost, Refactor, and Replatform, utilizing Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service (DMS) to achieve successful outcomes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, ensuring the engineering team delivers high-quality, reliable, and fault-tolerant solutions that meet functional and business requirements.
• Deeply understand and leverage Azure core services, including Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Virtual Network, and Azure AD, to design effective cloud solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and product teams to transform functional and technical requirements into well-structured architecture, detailed designs, and scalable, maintainable code.
• Champion industry best practices in software engineering, architecture, and cloud migrations to ensure high standards of reliability, performance, and security across all cloud infrastructure.
• Lead architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure the team adheres to best practices and delivers high-quality solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Build and test complex system components and improve development efficiency through automation, frameworks, and scalable solutions.
• Manage and guide teams throughout the project lifecycle, focusing on technical delivery, resource allocation, and aligning with business priorities.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that project goals, milestones, and timelines are clearly defined and communicated.
• Foster a collaborative environment and ensure alignment across engineering, product, and operations teams for seamless execution of Azure cloud migration projects.
• Continuously improve cloud infrastructure solutions to ensure optimal cost efficiency, scalability, and reliability.

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in managing large-scale Azure cloud migration projects, including the assessment, strategy, and implementation phases.
• Proficiency in cloud migration approaches such as Rehost, Refactor, Replatform, and familiarity with Azure migration tools like Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Deep understanding of Azure core services including Virtual Machines, Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Virtual Network, and Azure AD.
• Strong experience in architecting and designing scalable and maintainable cloud solutions.
• Proven expertise in building complex systems and improving development efficiency through frameworks and automation tools.
• Demonstrated experience leading architecture, design, and code reviews to maintain high standards of quality across the team.
• Ability to transform functional and technical requirements into actionable plans and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and projects, with the ability to allocate resources effectively and guide teams through complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically when addressing technical and strategic challenges.
• Must be US Citizen

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $150k-$160k base+ Bonus+ Benefits

 The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Service's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
