The team
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Migration Architect to lead and manage large-scale cloud migration initiatives to Azure. This role requires a deep understanding of Azure’s core and advanced services, cloud migration strategies, and infrastructure automation. You will play a key role in driving successful migrations and ensuring the seamless adoption of Azure services for our clients. Your expertise in Azure architecture, networking, security, and automation will be critical in delivering scalable and secure cloud environments.
The role
- Lead and architect large-scale Azure migration projects, ensuring smooth transitions to Azure for complex workloads across virtual machines, storage, databases, and advanced services like AKS, Azure Synapse, and Logic Apps.
- Design and implement Azure cloud architectures utilizing both core services (Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Functions) and advanced services (AKS, Azure Synapse, Logic Apps) to meet business and technical requirements.
- Architect and implement Azure networking solutions including VNets, ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient network infrastructure.
- Implement Azure security practices including Azure AD, RBAC, and Azure Key Vault to secure applications and data in the cloud.
- Leverage cloud migration approaches such as Rehost, Refactor, Replatform, and others to migrate workloads to Azure with minimal disruption.
- Utilize Azure migration tools like Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service (DMS) to facilitate seamless migration processes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates to ensure repeatable and efficient migration and deployment processes.
- Lead Azure Site Recovery and Azure Migrate efforts for disaster recovery and migration of on-premises workloads to Azure.
- Develop and drive cloud adoption strategies, ensuring the alignment of Azure workloads with cloud adoption frameworks and best practices.
- Provide technical leadership and subject-matter expertise throughout the lifecycle of migration projects, including architecture design, implementation, and optimization.
- Manage the technical delivery of Azure migrations within highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with internal policies, external standards, and industry regulations.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders including vendors, internal teams, and clients, ensuring proper stakeholder management and successful project execution.
- Communicate complex technical solutions to senior stakeholders, providing status updates, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to ensure project success.
- Lead the migration and cloud adoption discussions and provide guidance on architectural decisions, cost optimization, and performance improvements.
- Actively document migration processes, best practices, and post-migration support to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer across teams.
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years of experience in Azure migration assessment and implementation, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale Azure migration projects.
- Deep knowledge of Azure core services such as Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, and Azure Functions, as well as advanced services like AKS, Azure Synapse, and Logic Apps.
- Expertise in Azure networking components like VNets, ExpressRoute, and Azure Firewall, as well as security services like Azure AD, RBAC, and Azure Key Vault.
- Strong proficiency in using Azure migration tools such as Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery, and Database Migration Service (DMS) for assessing, migrating, and recovering workloads.
- Extensive experience with Terraform, Bicep, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates for infrastructure provisioning, automation, and configuration management.
- Expertise in cloud adoption frameworks and migration strategies to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing optimization of cloud workloads.
- Proven ability to deliver technical projects in highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with technology policies and industry standards.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships, coordinating project activities, and providing leadership across technical teams and stakeholders.
- Strong experience presenting at the Senior Stakeholder level, with the ability to manage and influence decisions across multiple levels of an organization.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Proven leadership in managing complex projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving successful project delivery.

As required by the equal pay and transparency acts, the expected base salary for this position is: $160k-$180k base+ Bonus+ Benefits
The expected pay is determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, depth of experience in the practice area. Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Digital Service's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program’s conditions and restrictions.
