The role
Test Engineer
What you’ll be doing
• Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies tailored to cloud migration activities.
• Identify test requirements from project documentation and define acceptance criteria for each migration phase.
• Design and execute detailed test cases, ensuring coverage of functional, non-functional, regression, and performance aspects.
• Validate application functionality post-migration to ensure system integrity and reliability.
• Identify, log, and track defects using industry-standard tools, ensuring their resolution in collaboration with the development team.
• Conduct root cause analysis for critical defects and provide insights for improvement.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve efficiency and accuracy in repetitive testing scenarios.
• Leverage testing tools and frameworks to execute and report on test results effectively.
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and Scrum teams to ensure alignment on testing objectives.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Validate the successful migration of applications, databases, and infrastructure components to ensure no loss of functionality or data.
• Test integration points and APIs to ensure seamless interaction between cloud and on-premises systems where applicable.
What you’ll bring
Mandatory skills:
• Minimum of 3+ year experience in a security engineering role, with experience in network security, application security, and security frameworks.
• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Strong understanding of testing practices in cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience validating migrated workloads for performance, security, and reliability.
• Proficiency in using test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, or Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with automation testing tools like Selenium, Postman, or similar frameworks.
• Ability to create, maintain, and execute automated test scripts.
• Expertise in functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and system testing.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile processes and working in Scrum teams to ensure testing aligns with sprint goals.
• Strong analytical skills to identify potential testing gaps and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Clear and concise communication skills for reporting test results and defect status.
• Experience documenting test plans, cases, and reports effectively.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer proficiency including JIRA
Nice to have skills:
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools to validate application scalability post-migration.
• Familiarity with security testing techniques and tools to ensure migrated workloads meet compliance and security standards.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell for automation and validation tasks.
• Familiarity with cloud migration tools such as AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, or similar platforms.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI to validate integrations during and after migration.
• Ability to mentor and coach fresh talent in the team.
• Proactive in identifying risks and providing innovative solutions to quality challenges.
